Satellites are extremely complicated machines, and they are made up of thousands of parts. In order to better organize the various parts of a satellite, it is divided into various subsystems. Each subsystem is developed separately from the others, but constant communication between subsystem teams makes sure they all fit together and meet the mission requirements. The development of each subsystem is managed by the subsystem lead. It is the job of the Systems Engineer to coordinate the various subsystems.
The design of HazMO's orbit is managed by Curran Muhlberger. He must figure out what orbit the satellite is first put into after launch, how the satellite will travel to the moon, and how the satellite should orbit the moon once it gets there.
