El Compadre, the
Godfather, is a Hispanic store found in Hyattsville. If you ask any
Hispanic, they will tell you where to find it. This is one of the reasons
to visit El Compadre.
Inside of the store, we met David Lizanne whose family owns the store.
David told us that he has been working in the store since 1990. He went
to Northwestern High School and has a degree in business management.
David and his father decided to put it in Hyattsville because of the
fast growing rate of Hispanics to the area. David said that most of
their customers are regular customers, and they receive new customers
every day.
David informed us that their distributors are from Mexico and Jamaica.
At this moment, they are trying to become a five star Western Union.
David told us that they have 10 full time workers and 4 part-time workers.
El Compadre is another asset of Prince George's county that Hispanics
like.
